**Once FCPS is in Session for 2024-2025 Academic year, hours will be adjusted to Monday- Friday to 4-8pm and 11-8pm Saturday and Sunday. Many of our lifeguards are high school and college students and staffing during school hours is not possible. We require a full staff of guards to open the pool.
Eligibility
The Pinnacle HOA Pool can only be used by homeowners within the Association, and their immediate family that reside in the home within Pinnacle.
To use the Pinnacle HOA Pool, the following items MUST be completed prior to admittance each year:
- HOA dues must be paid.
- All members must complete a pool application.
- 2023 pool applications and passes do not carry over to 2024.
Access To The Pool
Check-in for the pool is located on the Playground side of the complex and will be staffed by the HOA contracted Pool Management Company. No physical pass will be issued, as memberships will be electronic.
Guest Passes
Members must be present to use guest passes. Each household will be allowed 15 Guest passes for the 2024 pool season. Additional guest passes can be purchased for $5 per guest. No more than 4 Guest passes can be used per one single visit. Please note that all guests under the age of 12 will also be required to take a swim test.
Sitter Passes
Members may purchase a season pass for $75.00 for a sitter, unrelated guardian, chaperone, or companion who is authorized by the member (a “Sitter Pass”). Sitter Passes must be associated with a membership in the Association’s records to enable verification at check-in. Admittance to the pool with such a Sitter Pass is strictly contingent upon the presence of a child or other dependent listed on the associated member’s list of household members. Sitter Pass applications will be available prior to the Summer Pool Season
Pool Layout
The main pool area (not including one lane line) will be segmented into 3 Zones:
- Red Zone- Shallow water Zone (up to 4 feet)
- Yellow Zone- 4 Foot to Deep Section
- Blue Zone- Deep Section
Child Swim Testing
All children under the age of 12 will be required a yearly swim test prior to using the pool.
Swim Test Skills Components:
Red Band: Weak/ Non-Swimmers - All children Identified as Weak/Non- Swimmers must always remain within Arm’s reach of an adult within any zone of the pool.
Yellow Band: For Children to gain access to the Yellow Zone Unaided, Children must successfully complete the following skills:
- Enter pool via steps or jump in from side
- Once in yellow zone, child should be able to get to middle of pool (walk, paddle, swim) and stay above water for 30 seconds (stand, float, paddle, swim)
- After 30 seconds, child should be able to make it back to either side safely (walk, paddle, swim)
Blue Band: For Children to gain access to the Blue Zone unaided, Children must successfully complete the following skills:
- Enter Blue Zone via ladder, jump from side, or diving board.
- Make way to middle of Blue zone and tread water for 30 seconds
- Swim safely to the side of the pool
Swim Testing Logistics:
Swim Testing will be conducted daily. No child under age 12 will be permitted to swim prior to taking a swim test, regardless of inconvenience or difficulty scheduling same. Upon checking in at the pool please inform desk attendant that a swim test is needed.
Swim Bands
At Check In, all swimmers under the age of 12 will receive a colored band based upon swim test. Bands must always be worn. A binder will be included at the check in that is categorized by street. All children under the age of 12 living on the street will be listed on a cover sheet for each street with birth date and Swim Zone Level. This sheet will be updated as swimmers test out throughout the summer.
POOL RULES
- All Swimmers swim at their own risk. Children under the age of 12 will also be required to take a yearly swim test. All children under the age of 12 identified as a Weak or Non-Swimmer, must always remain in arm’s length of an adult in the water.
- The pools will normally be open for use during the times listed on pool schedule. No one will be allowed in the pool at other hours. Hours may vary due to weather and maintenance. The Pool Manager or head guard is authorized to close the pool using his or her judgment if circumstances warrant.
- Members and guests must register at the gate before entering the pool area and should be prepared to present to the lifeguard on duty a valid pool pass. Dues must be paid in full and there shall be no unresolved rule violations.
- 15 free Guest passes per address (not member) will automatically be loaded on your membership account. You may purchase additional guest passes thorough the Association Membership Services payment portal. Members must accompany their guests and are responsible for their conduct. Except for special circumstances, which must be approved by the HOA Board or the Pool Manager, a guest is defined as a person that does not reside at a Pinnacle residence and did not pay the annual membership fee.
- No child under the age of 13 is permitted entry without a chaperone 16 or older. No member under the age of 18 may check a “guest” into the pool facility.
- Children under the age of 13 shall not be left at the pool unattended. This rule will be rigidly enforced. If any doubts occur as to a young child’s ability to swim the lifeguard may remove the child from the pool and ask, he or she be accompanied by a parent, guardian, sitter or responsible adult companion on future visits.
- The wading pool is for the benefit of small children (five years and younger, who must be accompanied by a parent or responsible person that will supervise the child at ALL times from within the fenced wading pool area) and non-swimmers.
- Children that are not potty trained or newly potty trained MUST use swim diapers both in the wading pool and main pool.
- Diving board may only be used by individuals over 12 years of age or children under the age of 12 with Blue Swim Band.
- Diving, dunking, wrestling, running or towel flipping are never permitted on the premises. In such circumstances the lifeguard on duty has authority to take disciplinary action which may include, but not limited to, a verbal warning, sitting out of the pool for a time period, or loss of pool privileges.
- Water-soaked balls, towels, hats, paper cups, Popsicle sticks, plastic straws, etc. are not permitted in the pool as they may endanger other swimmers and possibly cause damage to the filtration equipment. Squirt guns or devices that squirt water are not be permitted. The lifeguard-on-duty will have authority over such circumstances.
- The lifeguard on duty has the authority to disallow use of plastic, inflatable objects and other toys and objects if, in the opinion of the lifeguard, they appear to pose a threat or infringe upon the rights of others.
- Willful defacing or destruction of property will not be tolerated and will be grounds for immediate suspension of pool privileges. Members will be liable for loss or damages caused by them, their children or their guests. Members are fully responsible for the conduct of their children and guests while on the premises. Failure to cooperate will result in suspension of the member from use of all club facilities
- Swimming lessons may be available on a fee-for-service basis. Arrangements for lessons may be made by contacting the Pool Manager and only available to members of the Pinnacle pool and who have paid the pool membership fee.
- The HOA Pool is a non-smoking facility. Representatives of the Fayette County Board of Health, who give a rating for cleanliness and hygienic conditions after each inspection, regularly inspect the pool. Accordingly, members are urged to exercise the utmost care in disposing of their food, drinks, and other trash. Nothing should ever be thrown in the pool.
- Glass bottles or glass containers are prohibited within the fenced area. Beverages must be in a cup, preferably with a lid.
- Pool deck furniture is not to be moved outside the fenced area or placed in the pool. Members may not use the pool furniture for building forts, playing games, etc.
- Pets are prohibited except for Service animals.
- The HOA is not responsible for lost articles, accidents or injury to members or guests using the facilities. All personal possessions are to be removed from the pool and dressing room areas at the end of each day.
- No towels will be furnished by the HOA.
- In furtherance of the safety and welfare of all persons using the pool, guards are authorized to discipline children using the swimming pool when necessary. Disciplinary measures will range from a verbal warning, sitting out of the pool for a period of time, to a loss of pool privileges.
- Swimming in Bermudas, cut-off shorts, blue jeans, or other non-bathing attire will not be permitted.
- Unauthorized persons entering the pool during times other than normal operating hours or special unannounced hours will be considered trespassing and treated according to Federal, State, and Local Laws.
- Food and beverages are permitted on the pool deck. Picnic coolers are allowed on the premises in designated food areas.
- Playing of loud music is prohibited. Please use headphones, ear buds, etc to listen to music.
- Private parties will only be scheduled before or after regular operating hours.
- All guests must sign a waiver before entering the pool deck.
- When Lifeguard calls for Break, all children must exit the pool until the guard ends break.
- HOA reserves the right to add or change rules at its discretion at any time.
